Sort out these items well before your first match of the season.
DartConnect
It is recommended that each player use two devices: one device for the DartConnect scoring app and another device for video conferencing and sharing a view of your dartboard. The two devices can be any combination of any two phones, tablets, or laptops. If you have a laptop with an external webcam or a rear-facing camera, you can accommodate both applications on that one device.
Skype
ECDO has standardized on Skype video conferencing. The Skype web, desktop, phone, and tablet apps support the tiling of video feeds so that you can view all of them simultaneously. By agreement of all players, you may instead use Facebook video messenger. This would require that all players have Facebook and are connected to each other.
If you do not have a Skype account, click the following link to create a meeting right away. You don’t have to create an account or sign up for anything—TOTALLY FREE!
If using a computer/laptop, you'll be able to create the meeting directly from the website. If using a tablet or phone, you’ll be prompted to download Skype.

For singles play, DartConnect has recently launched its own video solution integrated into the scoring app. However, it is new and we recommend having Skype available as a backup.
General Online Match Play
Matches should start promptly at 7pm Pacific Time. ECDO allows a half-hour grace period to start a match, but please be considerate and communicate with all match players if you need to use this time buffer. By agreement of all players involved, a match may be rescheduled to another day/time, but please alert the Competition Secretary at [email protected].
When corking, please use the "PDC Bull" rule. In PDC corking, you do not measure the distance from dart to bull. Each dart is either a double-bull, a single-bull, or a miss. Bounce-outs and non-scoring darts should be rethrown. Use the "Coin Toss" option to determine who gets to choose whether to see or to show. The current match format consists of sets each with an odd number of legs. For each set, please: (1) cork the first leg, then (2) use alternate start so that each player/team starts the same number of legs, and finally (3) cork the last leg of the set.
Corking example:
As an alternative to corking and by agreement of both players/teams, you may use the "Random Start" option to randomly choose the player/team that starts the leg. This is advisable if both players/teams are having trouble hitting the bull.
Singles/Doubles Play, using Skype
For each match, the schedule designates one player/team as "Home" and the other player/team as "Visitor." In doubles player, each team pair should decide who is the "Captain" and who is the "Teammate." The guidelines below assume that each player is in their own location.
Home Captain (or home singles player)
Home/Visitor Teammate
Match Format
Each match is comprised of 3 sets. At the start of each set, you will need to select the number of legs for that set. This is 7+7+1 legs for A Divisions (total of 15 legs) and 5+5+1 legs for B Divisions (total of 11 legs). You will be awarded 1 league standing point for each leg won.
