Overview
In 2024, Advanced Singles League will operate four primary seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall) and two interim seasons. These seasons run consecutively over the course of the year. The four primary seasons are tied to ADO national competitions. The interim seasons fill the gaps between the primary seasons.
Weekly Tournaments
Each week, The Advanced Singles League is run as a modified round robin or double elimination tournament with a $10 entry fee. 100% of the entry fees are paid back in prize money each week. There is no explicit week to week commitment to play. That said, players who play three or more times are expected to pay the per season league membership fee ($35). For registered players, the match results and statistics are compiled over the course of each season and will be used to seed eligible players into the championship tournament on the last week of that season (regular seasons only). Additionally, the match results and statistics compiled over the course of each season and will be added to the yearly standings used to rank eligible players for the Seattle Singles Championship.
Winter, Spring, Fall and Summer Seasons, Regular Seasons
The Advanced Singles League runs 4 regular seasons where the top players earn tickets to respective ADO National Qualifiers. ADO Tickets are awarded to the top finishers in the championship tournament held at the end of the season. Prizes will be one ADO Ticket for each $60 in league and venue matching funds that have accumulated over the course of the season. Money is raised via player membership fees, $30 of which goes to the ticket prize fund. These monies are used to pay the $60 fee required to participate in an ADO National Qualifier. This works out to 1 ADO tickets awarded for every 2 registered players.
Interim Seasons
In 2025 there will be four ad hoc interim seasons, each approximately 4 weeks long. We will play blind draw doubles Chicago or Penguin. The goal of the these seasons is to fill gaps between the regular season as well as attract new players. During interim seasons players will not compete for ranking point nor ADO tickets. Each week is run as an independent event. There will be no season championship.
League Fees and Player Rankings
Players are not required to pay the league fee to play each week. However, players must pay the league fee each season to be eligible to accumulate points, win ADO tickets, play in the season championship and be invited to the Coopers Cup Championship at the end of the year.
