Hey Dart Community! My apologies for the delay; I've had a busy start to Fall and am behind on most things life. The latest edition of the Emerald Flight is available, merged into an October and November edition. Inside, you'll find exciting details about the upcoming ECC, a brand new "Epic Leg of the Month" feature, and the latest board updates. Happy reading! 📰🍂
As in previous years, the format was a parity blind draw with round robin play. This format ensured that everyone had a fair chance to win and allowed players from different divisions to compete against each other. It is always enjoyable to play against players who aren't on your normal weekly rotation, while also providing a chance to get to know new league members. While everyone was there to have fun and enjoy the camaraderie, there was also a healthy amount of competition. The players brought their A- (and B- and C-) game and were determined to win, which led to some intense and closely contested matches. However, the competitive spirit was always balanced with sportsmanship, and the players were quick to congratulate each other on their successes. There were some exceptional performances during the tournament. Jeff Leonard had a 3-dart average of 60, showing off his excellent skills and precision. Anthony Gallegos was also impressive with a 54 3-dart average. Their performances were a testament to the high level of skill and dedication among the league's players. The winning teams were Tom Linsky/Keven Kroldart and Jeff Leonard/Glen Huff. They split the winnings for first and second place. Runners-up were the teams of Anthony Gallegos/Jennifer Walsh and Jeff Hancock/Nicholas Toon. Doug Stevens took home the $100 High Dart Out prize (HDO of 78), which was sponsored by Black Private Investigations. In addition to the tournament and the HDO prize, there were also raffle prizes up for grabs. Some of the top winners included Paul Straub, who won a wine gift basket; Graham Redman, who won a beer gift basket and Seattle Kraken tickets (GO KRAKEN!);and honorary board member Gabe Lakey-Henry, who won his very first set of darts! Congrats to all the raffle winner. Overall, the Annual Winter Shoot was a fantastic event that showcased the skill, dedication, and camaraderie of The ECDO's members. Thank you to The Hidden Door for the exceptional service and to ECDO members for the fantastic turn-out. The league looks forward to hosting more events like this in the future and continuing to promote the sport of darts in the community. authorSusan Lakey Kevo, ECDO Publicity Manager, League One Division's Game of Throwns team member (out of Kate's Pub), below average dart player. With league play just two weeks away, the Shoreline Deadboltz and the Ballard Tullamore Dew Crew have came to terms on the leagues first player trade. The Dew Crew will be trading Jen Frazier, a spunky right armer from Redmond WA. for Mongolian superstar Daniel, "Hero", Hatanbaatarand and a player to be named latter. Brandon LaValley, the captain of the Deaboltz stated that he likes Jen's go gett-em attitude and drinking style and is happy to have her part of the teams. When asked about the trade, the new Deadboltz player Hero Hatanbaatarand stated, Би шинэ багтайгаа дартс тоглохдоо баяртай байна, гэхдээ Tillamore Dew гэж юу вэ?
